What is the Unified Theory of Experience?
The Unified Theory of Experience (UTE) is a proposed mathematical framework for exploring how experience unfolds over time.

The Main Components
At the heart of UTE are three continuously evolving variables.
Current Experiential State (x)
This represents the current experiential state. It reflects the combined effects of internal and external influences, regulation, adaptation, and amplification at a given moment.
Adaptive Baseline (B)
Experience leaves traces behind. Rather than reverting to an identical state after each event, the system gradually adapts. UTE models this shifting "normal" as an adaptive baseline that continuously changes over time.
Identification-Driven Amplification (λ)
Not every experience affects us equally. Some experiences become amplified based on how strongly we identify with them. UTE models this amplification separately from the experience itself, allowing identification to strengthen or prolong the influence of internal experiences.
Internal and External Influences

Adaptation
While regulation influences the present, adaptation prepares for the future. Repeated experiences gradually alter the adaptive baseline, causing future experiences to emerge from a different starting point.
This helps explain how habits, learning, resilience, and long-term change develop over time.

Identification may amplify certain influences.
